We here at Girls with Big Books have noticed a disturbing trend in the world.

We have noticed that many smart women hide their intelligence, because they feel that it makes them less attractive in the eyes of men. All too many women think that the only thing that matters is how you look, and that you should hide who you actually are, if you have any kind of unique personality of your own.

We want to strive to change this. We want to remind the smart, the nerdy, the geeky and artistic girls that there are plenty of men (and women) out there who love them because they are nerdy – not in spite of it.

We will use whatever entertaining means are at our disposal to express our heartfelt belief that the sexiest women are the smart ones, regardless of how their outward appearance. We want to promote a better self image among many women.

We want to promote better treatment of nerdy girls on the Internet.

We want Hollywood, video game producers and other people in the entertainment industry to give us more movies, games, tv-shows, books and so on with positive representations of nerdy girls. We believe that it is in their best interest, since we are so many who love them, and of course in our best interest because we would enjoy that.

We also want to make this site entertaining for all those of us who find intelligent/nerdy girls hot, bringing a variety of resources to appreciate the beauty of an interesting intellect.
